Offer Description
Summary: There is an open call for two (2) Research Scholarships (“Bolsas de Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the project POWER - POCI-01-0247-FEDER-070365, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), through the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020) of the Portugal 2020 framework.
Scientific Area: Wireless Technologies
Group: Radio Systems - Av
Work Objectives: Design, development, simulation, implementation, integration and validation of modems and interfaces for 5G radio units and infrastructures.
Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Arnaldo Oliveira.
Duration: 10 months (renewable until the end of the project). Start date: August 2023 or soon thereafter.

Admission Requirements:
Research grants are intended:
- for students enrolled in a degree-conferring course to carry out R&D activities with the aim to consolidate their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the attainment of the respective academic degree or completion of the course (integrated or not in R&D projects).
- for students enrolled in courses that do not confer an academic degree but which are integrated in an educational project of a higher education institution and are developed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units.
Candidates must have a Master of Sicence (M.Sc.) degree complete on Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer engineering, or equivalent, with relevant professional experience or academic background in the area of telecommunications with focus on Software Defined Radio, Radio Access Networks, 5G mobile communications, baseband/RF digital signal processing, FPGA-based design (either HDL-based and high level model-based). The candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program.
Additional Information
Monthly salary: 1199.64 € according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer.
